More than 60 million Americans suffer from some form of acne breakouts. Acne affects more than 80% of all teenagers at some time in their lives, and clogged pores comprise more than 25% of all visits to the dermatologist. Acne now has hit epidemic proportions in adults, especially women. What used to just be a teenager problem is now a real challenge in adult’s lives.

Then Why Do I have Acne?

Acne is an actual disease of the pores. It can be caused by certain drugs, medications, or exposure to certain chemicals but most acne is an inherited tendency. Dead skin cells are shedding much too quickly in the acne prone-pore. It forms a plug along with sebum and hair and this is where the problem begins. If the body doesn’t see the plug as an invader, then it remains as a noninflamed lesion, aka a blackhead. If it does, then it forms into pimples, pustules, and cysts.

How Can I Get Clear?

You’re in luck! Your acne can be controlled through the continued use of Face Reality™ products and corrective treatments for at least the first 12 weeks. Many people see a dramatic difference in their acne in the first month. Once your acne is under control, you must use the products to keep clear. Unfortunately acne cannot be cured only controlled.

Face Reality™ only allows estheticians educated and certified in their technique to be able to perform the treatments and sell Face Reality™ products. As a Face Reality™ esthetician, I work one-on-one in getting clients’ acne under control. For teenagers, acne can cause severe depression and anxiety and they tend to be our most compliant clients.

Clients are required to be seen every two weeks for the first 12 weeks to make any necessary adjustment to their home-care products, so the skin doesn’t get lazy and stop clearing. The products are very reasonably priced and we provide handouts on how to use them as well as tips on diet, do’s and don’ts, and suggested lifestyle changes.

Bottom Line: If you commit to following our instructions, your acne will get under control and your skin will be clearer.

Prior to your appointment with us:

Please discontinue using any topical prescription prescribed for your acne for two weeks. (i.e. Differin, Retin-A, Clindamycin, Epiduo, etc.). You must be off Accutane for three months prior to your 1st treatment. ​

What to expect during your first-time consultation:

During your initial consultation ($50), we will review your acne history. What you are currently using as your home-care routine and what you have used in the past for your acne will be important for us to know.

Based on our analysis of your skin and acne history we will create a home-care routine for you. Home-care products will cost approximately $175 (6-8 weeks worth of product). These products are an essential part of getting your skin clear and acne under control. We do not offer a program without a home-care product purchase. You will be thoroughly educated on how and when to use each step of your new home-care routine.

Immediately following your consultation, we may recommend performing an Acne Hydration Treatment with Extractions or Acne Treatment with Peel and Extractions ($75) to get the treatment process started.

We will review and discuss any acne triggers or lifestyle changes which we feel you may need to make to get your skin clear. We feel that it is important to control your acne from the inside out.

At the end of your consultation, we will set up a two to three-week follow-up appointment. These types of appointments will be ongoing until your skin is clear. Such appointments are essential for us to deep clean your pores, adjust your home-care regimen and lighten red and brown marks and scarring.

To achieve clear skin please plan on following our Clear & Acne Free Program for three-six months. Outcomes may vary depending on client’s adherence to the program, product usage, and lifestyle changes.
